The Grand River Lacrosse Club is committed to offering year-round weekly drop-in opportunities, dependent on field availability. See our calendar for the current drop-in schedule, and e-mail us if you are interested in attending: [email protected]
Skill Level
Many players are former college athletes. Current college players and former high school players also play as well.
Ages
Most players are in their 20s or 30s, but we range all the way up to 60 or so.
Contact/Intensity
No hitting is allowed. Body contact is minimal. Stick checking is generally allowed. Sessions usually last two hours. During drop-in we play high-intensity to have fun and develop our skills, but not to rock each other contesting ground balls.
Play Style
In colder months we typically play box lacrosse, 5 on 5 with two goalies, short-sticks only. In the summer we often play full field outdoors, long-sticks welcome. We keep team sizes reasonable to try to maximize playing time.
Equipment
Players are expected to provide all of their own equipment, including pinnies.
Cost
Goalies play for free! Drop-in costs are usually $10 per session, depending on field availability. Discounts for members or up-front registration are often available.
